Sock and nut
You can always carry a good sock in one pocket and a big steel nut in the other pocket.
Another rel good option is a belt with a big brass buckle.
All perfectly legal

blunt weapons
I've carried just about all of it throughout my life. A piece of 2ft chain with a padlock on the end when i was a teenager, clubs, bats, knives, boot knives, nucs cast out of lead.
The older I get, the simpler things get. Now I just have a big hairy lockblade knife, knees, elbows and steel toed RedWing boots.
A few martial arts classes didnt impede my rush to simplification. The biggest baddass in the county convinced me that my fists were easier to control than a blunt weapon. I havent had a chance yet to test his teaching and I hope I never have to. I'm too old and tired for a knuckle duster.

when in doubt...
i guess the greatest weapon one can have is willingness :to act . bad things do happen to good people.the decision "not be a victim'' is a great mindset to have in todays world . a good head butt works wonders if you have no weapon....then do like pink flloyd RUN LIKE HELL

Punctuation and dangling participles are dangerous things.
Steel toe boots, steel toe fists, steel toe head, etc. You'd be very formidable. I think dog was feeling inferior.

No no no,i wasnt implying that. This is a question about impact weapons, and the definition of impact is anything that can be impacted.I can use my head to break a nose,i can use my knees to break balls,i can use my elbows to break jaws,i can use my hands to break ribs,i can use my boots to break toes. You dont need a 30 pound sledgehammer to have an impact weapon.
