No Bowie type knives? Why? The large Case Trapper can gut an elk. The knife is soft enough that you can put an edge on quickly and continue your work. Nothing can dull a blade faster than elk hair.

My Spyderco Persistence I have been carrying for about a year or more now. I changed the silver clip to this nice black one some time ago. This is one of the best knives I have ever owned for the price and I stand behind it 100%

Where did you get your khukri from?

It was a gift from one of my Hawaiian recon scouts when I was assigned to the 25th Inf in Hawaii and he made the Koa wood scabbard.
This was in 1993.
The Khukri has absolutely no markings on it and looks like the traditional Bhojpure style.

How old it is, I have no idea?

You know, some folks dislike the "cheap" cold steel products. However, I must admit, for the price / performance ratio - they are very tough (if not impossible) to beat! For my budget minded (young Soldiers) I don't hesitate to recommend their products.

My problem with cold steel is that some of their products that they market as their own, actually come from windlass steel crafts. Still a great product, and it's done in conjunction with an actual partnership between the two, but this is sheisty business practice IMO.
