Very little markings. Usually there are part numbers or build dates. This is all I can find:

A Peter Krebs in ghastly condition will get you $900 on E-Bay.

Specialty houses sell ones in similar condition to yours for an average of $1200.

Welcome to the Antiques Roadshow.

Thank you my friend!

Dad brought this one back from Germany in 1945.

It's not going anywhere. Well not for 1.2K$ anyway!

Anyone know what this is worth? I rescued it when my Dad died. It's a German Officer's Dress Dagger. He brought it back from Germany after WWII. The sheath(?), pommel and hilt are German silver, the handle is ivory, and the blade says "Eickhorn - Solingen"?

Thank you Cane. Good info and pics there! Mine has none of the nicks in the handle or wear marks anywhere. The blade shows absolutely no use and no signs of sharpening. I'm now glad I decided to ask before I took the silver polish to it. My son will have an expensive historical relic someday. Thanks again!

Thanks JD - I wish I had the P-38 and M-1 Carbine my Dad had - but he got rid of those when we were young, which was probably a good thing considering my propensity for getting into trouble in my youth...one thiing I will pick up within the next few weeks is an unfired Smith-Corona1903-A3 he had since the 1950's.

Yes JD - brand spanking new - the only problem is the gunsmith my Dad was friends with traded him the opriginal GI stock for a new walnut sporter stock back in 1963 when JC Penny sold sporting goods. The stock is a beautiful figured walnut w/Monte Carlo cheekpiece, unfortunately this change has devalued that gun tremendously. I bought my Dad a Brownells Acra-Glas kit many years ago so he could finish the project, but he never did. So maybe I will - or maybe I'll just look for a military stock. Either way that gun should be a nice shooter.
