"Barlow" has two meanings in the knife world. First, it designates a style of knife that was first made in Sheffield, England in the late 1600's, but was also made in the U.S. shortly thereafter.
Secondly, there was a Barlow Knife Company, which produced inexpensive knives of this style, and in the past few years these were used as advertising products. I suspect you knife falls into this last category.
