The Good Old Night Stick/ Billy Club !!
I still like the Night Stick, especially the new hard composite shatter proof plastic ones ! They can be had from 12 to 36 inches. The 12 and 24 inch ones are most popular. These things can break bones very easy. A pair of Nuinchakus would be awesome in this material !

And I sometimes miss the five D-cell Mag-lite. When swung properly if would stop 275 pound linebacker faster than a drug test.

Why bring a baton to a gunfight?
Because when you have to poke around in a trash can looking for the wallet discarded by the armed robber, you do not want to use your sidearm.

Yeah Monadonok made a nunchuck that every officer I met who carried it hated them.
The only time I used a baton after my department went to ASP's was exactly what c3 said.
I hated it when they took our deadblow's away.

In the late 70's I had one I carried under the passenger side headrest of my car. The only problem was that the heat from being shut-up in the car in summer would cause it to warp, then I'd have to rotate it and let it sag back the other way.
