Haha I'm in the same boat as you.
"way of war" is pretty good, but you've really got to pay attention to it.
I know for a fact it's on Netflix.

For a gripping Vietnam tale that's somewhat close to reality watch "We Were Soldiers" with Mel Gibson & Sam Elliott. Based on a true story, it details the events in 1965 when the 1st Air Cavalry deployed to Vietnam and met with the enemy in one of the first big battles at a place called the Ia Drang Valley.
Then read the book, We Were Soldiers Once..........and Young by Joe Galloway and Hal Moore for the whole real non-Hollywood story.
A personal note: While I arrived many years later, my unit was the one that provided primary helicopter support and gunships during the batlle of the Ia Drang.
