Folding Machete?
Has anyone here ever seen a folding machete? I remember when I was a kid in the mid '60s finding one in the field across from our house. I brought it home to show everyone and never saw it again. Probably because I was around 7 at the time and would of hacked the hell out of everything in sight. I think I remember it having a leather handle. I don't think it was as long when open as the standard G.I. type of today. Anyway, was just thinkin' about it for some reason.

From what I remember, that could be it! I don't remember an edge guard sticking out the other end,if that's what that is. I wonder if it was some kind of "survival" knife? Happen to know where a guy could find one?

I googled it, and all I saw was original WWII stuff. At over $300 I'll keep the G.I. one I've got.

Try Atlanta Cutlery, they have/had a nice repro. Factory sharp.
I could be off here, but I think this was part of an Air Force survival kit.

I thought SOG was making some sort of folding saw/hacker.....
Nope. Just a folding camp saw.
