Flint knapped obsidian blade knives with ebony wood handles
The buyer of these two knives wanted a "black on black" appearance. Rather than stain antlers as dark as possible for handles, I bought two chunks of ebony - the darkest wood on the planet. He also wanted the "darkest and sharpest" flint knapped obsidian blades. Ron Saunders of Nampa, Idaho, a Native American of Cherokee descent, provided them. Personally, I rate him as one of the best at his craft in the country. A friend reminded me to use black sinew to complete the look. Each knife is 10 3/4-inches long. The blades measure 5 1/2-inche long and 1 1/2 inches at their widest point.

Those are absolutely gorgeous. A flint knife is on my wish list.

An Obsidian was on a couple of our wishlists, which is why one of those is coming to me and one is going to my cutting partner in crime.
The prices are great, the knives look fantastic and I am most happy with Randy joining our forum and sharing his talent with us.

That is totally awesome!!!
I hope you include a signed certificate with it...provenance might not count for too much right now but a few generations from now it sure will.
