Booze and a flamethrower.

"Hold my beer and watch this..."
I have seen some DIY plans online that are nothing short of scary. Basically a super soaker loaded with gasoline and an ignition source. A good solid source of oxygen might really turn a so-so flame thrower into a youtube overnight sensation (or a Darwin Award). Use caution for sure.

All joking aside. If you decide to do this, check everything twice, then check it again. Then crack open the scotch. Good luck.

Actually, for a flamethrower, you do NOT want oxygen. One of the big problems is fuel getting burned up on the way TO the target. This is why they went to thickened fuel (#1 fuel oil- kerosene, with a jelling agent) For the greatest range- and burn time, there is a technique called a "wet shot". Without lighting the igniter, hit the target with fuel. THEN pop the igniter, and light up the target. Burn time 5-10 minutes (instead of seconds)
We also used to build really impressive little devices known as a fougasse- projecting flame mine. THOSE are regulated by the BATFE as destructive devices. However (for the benefit of regulators that read here) I was a serving member of the US Army while making those FOR the US Army.
Anyone remember John Wayne in the Green Berets? "Fire the fougasse!"

Someone needs to try out mixing jello mix with kerosene and see if it thickens it, I have reason to believe that the agent in jello is the same stuff they use in for flame thrower fuel. However i know styrofoam works with gas but it makes it really reallly really thick. However it does burn for a very long time and the smoke from it will wreck you.... I was a garage chemist before i turned 18 and had to worry about prison
