This knife started as scrap from another pair of blanks I cut out.

That's pretty cool, I love little fixed blades like that!

Thick Bronze guard, black walnut, stainless pin, and L-6 steel. It still likes a little finish work like polishing and etching the guard but I'm happy with it.

Here is a knife I DID NOT build but I did repair it for the owner. A kid tried to chop thru old barb wire with this knife. Also he damaged the guard. This is what a little time and sandpaper an oil can do. Before image-3859005227.jpg image-680320950.jpg image-611504136.jpg After image-1840727284.jpg image-1591600599.jpg

I still have to finish grinding the blades but I went ahead with the handles on these. It's a 3 knife set for a buddy one for him and his dad and brother.

Well as of January 1st I'm gonna have a lot more time to build knives. The company I work for just cut 300 of the 340 jobs. And that's the best news I've had all week.

I sure hope that's not blood on that thumb nail.....been there. a knife maker's hand will always show the saga.

It's blood under the nail from a 3 lb shop hammer at my full time Job from a few months ago. I hit my thumb and it just won't hurry up and grow out. I'm thinking about going to blade smithing school while I'm out of work. Yeah I think that may be in my near future.
