Ours took us shooting, mine exploring, hiking, backpacking, bow and arrow shooting, survival training, rafting, sea canoes, sailing, camping, rock climbing, surfing, and tons more.
Sorry to hear you missed on some of the good stuff. That happens, it all depends on the Scoutmaster and the other parents involved in the troop.
One of our Scoutmasters was a NRA Instructor. That gave us tons of access, and every kid in our troop did their Hunters Safety. It was great.

Sounds like it was great. My scoutmaster was lame. And being in Arkansas you would think we would of at yeast learned to build a log cabin or at least our own straw hats. Lol.

My dad wouldn't let me do scouts, because he did it as a kid and they kicked him out for fighting. Yeah, he's a douche like that.

That is true. But scouts are still really cool. Plus, it's an automatic promotion to e2 if you join as an eagle scout.

Thanks guys, i really hope Tex likes that blank. I think what I may start doing is building a few blanks and a few finished knifes and the post a pic of each and see if anyone wants one of them. That way I can spend more time building.
I just got a elk antler and have 21 mule deer racks on there way in trade for a father son pair OF skinners I have to build. Can't wait I've got the good dust mask and shop vac ready to go!
