Thanks. I dug it out today and may post some better pics.

Any chance you have a scabbard for an RFI 1A bayo?

Hey Rock, the one with tiger eye,do you think it was some kind of ceremonial or parade type, rather than regular issue? Seems to pretty for an every day grunt. Been thinking of tiger eying this one for some time. It'll be sweet. The sheath your step dad made is nice. Matter of fact, its the kind I would make, if they didn't have us making license plates all day.

I think the one with the Tiger was ceremonial. It is "blingy" all over. Digging through one of the big storage bins full of blades yesterday I found another 1909 Short Sword in the mix.

Your bayo is one that is commonly "sporterized". They are not rare or expensive, but are good steel. I've seen them polished up and redone and they look cool. But someday they MAY be in the rare-ish category. The Spanish 1941s are a prime exapmle. Used to be $10, now they start at about $75. All in the span of about 10 years.

Now, the ones you saw "sporterized" was it extensive? Grips, hand guard Or just the blade polished?
