Default Eickhorn Recon Force

I carry an Eickhorn Recon Force combat knife on my night and day hunts. It is excellent for both two and four legged animals. It comes with an US M8A1 combat sheath. Eickhorn makes knives for the German Bundeswehr (Army). The standard Army knife is a tanto style. I like the dagger style, because I can make a clean stab to the brain if an animal I shot is still breathing.

"Spring steel rated at 55Si7 and an HRC of 53, guarantees the highest blade flexibility at al times. This meets the exacting operational demands of todays combatants . Time and time again this unique OES blade has demonstrated distinct advantages over all other non-OES products, which shatter easily under normal stress loads and fail to meet the extreme field operations of todays soldier. Overall length: 30 cm Blade thickness: 5 mm Weight: 210 g Steel: 55Si7 (HRC 51-53)"

While hunting/hiking, I also carry a backup KaBar. I have a couple Glock knives in my backback, because they are cheap and disposable (insert your own joke). In fact, I know more hunters who are carrying Glock knives for least desirable tasks. I recommend them. I also carry a Leatherman Wave for repairs and a Winchester gutting multi-tool.

I use to carry these Skinner Vipers on my hunts/hikes. They were made in Maniago, Italy, which is near Aviano Air Force Base. The town is famous for their knives. That is real Red Deer antler and mountain goat horn.

"Combat" and "Knife" just don't go together with me. My Combat knife is a semi-automatic pistol.
