I think there's alot of merit it the old leather wrapped thunder, the sap/blackjack. Sure, there were concussions, broken bones, internal bleeding and the like, but sometimes old school is the best.

If some magical immobilizing pool noodle net came out for LEO use tomorrow, somebody would find fault with it.

Just remember there are millions of people in this country and just because you see five incidents on the news means five people out of I don't know 200 million or so Americans were tased under questionable means. The media is hype. This applies to anything they cover. Even the swine flu whats 100 people country wide when there are a couple hundred million of us.

I certainly hope you are correct, but even one abuse of authority is too much when it's MY TAX DOLLARS contributing to/paying for the taser & the abusing officer's salary & possible compensation for the tazed litigant in MY FREE COUNTRY. Just my opinion, for free.

True dat. Doctors, lawyers, and politicians also catch more flack when they act up (the politicians could use some more flack, imo). I think it is the whole "public trust" thing.
