Bonney Lake, Wa. I have a Razor Edge sharpening system and a Edge Pro Professional edition. Both of which can put a shaving edge back on that blade with a little steel removal.

And a good pocket knife is ALWAYS worth trying to save if you can.

I have a Tormek T7 I use on planer blades and wood turning tools mostly but it does one hell of a job on a knife or scissors. Nice slow grinding wet stone and a leather wheel for honing. You can shave with a pocket knife when its done. I havent found many knives that cant be saved

A coarse diamond "stone" will cut them out pretty fast. I have a Lansky coarse diamond and it works great on ax blades, and while usually to coarse and aggressive for a knife, it would be great on a nicked blade. Follow up with 3 to 5 increasingly finer Lansky stones on one of their sharpening systems, and you'll be splitting hairs soon enough.

Default Made in China......

Wth... My wife works at a Chinese resturant, I could not believe what she brought home for me to work on, I've allready repaired the china mans blender, and made him some flaming batons. Now I've got a meat cleaver made in china, it's hollow ground and the steel is full of mienute holes. He wants it tapered so as not to drag and wants it razor sharp.... I did what he wanted and it took me six hours by hand...... I got two triple Dragons to go........ He reworked the handle to fit his small chubby hands.....I'll know in a couple of weeks iffin it will hold an edge......Arthritus sucks when working knives by hand.......

I'm a little late here but to get the chips out and keep the same angle, you have to take the whole edge back as deep as the chip is.
