Default Bayonet to CAR15 Fitting

Is there a way to keep the M8 bayonet tight against the barrel of an AR when attached to the lug?

Thanks

Ideally, the ring on the bayonet would wind up around the flash supressor area, at the base of it.

Bayonets didn't have to contend with a multitude of barrel lengths when created, however. A detail most manufacturers don't think about.

Someone used to make a bayo lug extender designed to work with the CAR bbl. Can't remember who it was. Choate? There are also "stepped down" flash hiders that sleeve over the bbl and allow a bayo to fit snugly, but they shorten the effective length of blade in front of muzzle.

Neither my M8 nor my M9 fit the flash suppressor of my M16 or M4 very tightly.
