i hunt both with a bow, and guns. i could go to the grocery store for meat, but i do eat the deer i kill. these days it is all about the thrill i get from killing an animal (done as humanely as possible). if i lose the thrill/adrenalin rush, i will quit hunting. people hunt for different reasons, and i dont judge others reasons as long as its done ethically. i currently use a mathews DXT, and smoked a doe with it on the 13th.

I shoot a 2006 Oneida Extreme Eagle.



I think it's the best of both worlds with the beauty of a recurve and the let off of a compound. At 70 pounds it's feels like 50. It's hard to describe just how smooth it is to pull back, but it's extremely easy.

I shoot a Reflex (Bass Pro brand made by Hoyt) Highlander with a 28" draw length and 63 lbs of pull. I have yet to harvest a deer but I refuse to take any shot that will not kill the deer instantly. I also happen to rifle hunt but also have yet to harvest a deer. Iron sights on a .30-30 requires better marksmanship skills at 200 yards than what I currently possess. I do not believe in killing to collect a rack. I believe that the trophy should be secondary and use of the meat be the primary reason for hunting and that all hunters have a duty to hunt ethically and responsibly. My next rifle purchase will most likely be a Marlin XL7C to which I will mount a scope so that I will be more comfortable taking longer distance shots after many range sessions.

its illegal to hunt with a spear? if you are a good enough to get close enough to an animal to throw a spear and kill it, you are a hunting master.
