info I really didn't know, I carry a glock factory field knife. Not really expensive but I use it for everything from opening boxes to gutting game. Next things I want to get is a becker tac tool.

This is my daily driver . buck pilot 199 is a great knife blade is solid and doesnt wobble after years of abuse . i used this knife to pry open a door and it didnt bend or loosen a bit .. gave me many years of service and i bet many more AND its a frame lock which for me is a must not some crappy liner that lets the blade slip by after a year or two

Buck Knives Pilot W/Pocket Clip 420HC 3oz 4" #199 L@@K | eBay

although alot of people dont like 420HC steel . I do . keeps a decent edge fairly easy to sharpen

and I also have a smith and wesson 14" bowie knife in 440c that i affixed a leg strap to the sheath for tactical external storage

I'm sorry if I'm asking a question that has been addressed here or recently but I have very limited access to the internet. I work on a cruise ship and it cost to go on the internet. With that said, I need a good knife (not a folding blade) for my vehicle something that would serve as a protective weapon?

Thanks in advance,
Juggler

I think I looked at more of the threads, and I think I have found what I wanted. Thanks.

Excellent info Franny!

I mostly turn to an Endura or Delica for EDC.

But for work (where my stuff gets beat up, wet, dirty) I typically carry a Byrd combo blade Cara Cara or sometimes a Meadowlark. They're great $18-30 knives and get worked regularly when I'm on the clock. I've since added second Cara Cara, a Wings, a Crossbill, and a Resilience. Why not at that price? One for the truck, one for the backpack/go-bag, etc.

The Byrd line can be a great intro to carry knives at a fair price. If you like your $25 Cara Cara/Meadowlark enough, you can fork over the $70 for an Endura/Delica (both of which I recommend, BTW).
