Man if I set the empty cases close to the press and have my bullets all ready. I can crank out close to 500 in a little over an hour with my 550B. It is not that hard. You just need to get in a rhythm and have zero distractions.

i know,i know.   ..my buddy has the same 650 xl with all the stuff, he managed 700 rounds one time, all perfectly quality controlled and checked.....I'M BAD!!

I have never experienced any thing I would call nasty in 308 with 748. I even use it in -06, good results with 157-165gr bullets. Not the fastest loads but safe for Garands and 1/2 the group size the rifle is capable of w/M-2 ball

I think some of it had to do with the case lube I was using. It was the RCBS pump spray stuff. It was just shy of the old lube pad for sticky.....
Oh well......

I always clean after resizing to remove the lube. If the powder through die is not adjusted tight enough, you will get some spillage of the ball powders. That is one reason to trim to a uniform length. You can then keep the powder die adjusted pretty tight. Then you can get a more consistent crimp.
