I'm not; can you dumb it down for me a bit? What caliber are these or for what firearm? What is that dark stripe?

I like to post a picture now & then with no text just to see what is said.

This bullet is a 45 mostly used in a 45 Colt cartridge. It can be sized .452, .453, or .454. It is a clone of the RCBS 45-270-SAA.

This is from a 4 cavity mould from HiHec made of brass. The bullet in picture weighes 290 grains & is cast from straight air cooled wheel weights testing 12-13 BHN, my favorite hardness for 20-30,000 psi loads.

The dark Stripe is lube. Cast bullets use lube & most have a lube groove. That's what you're seeing.

^^^ Thanks!
290gr? That seems pretty hefty; i think my lil .45ACP rounds use 230gr bullets. Will you use them in a cowboy-type competition or for some kind of hunting? It looks like it would hit like a big flat truck.
