Will prices come down?
I keep reading how ammo prices have sky-rocketed lately, causing everyone to stockpile, further exaggerating the shortage, and rising prices.

It seems to me, when everyone is stocked up a year or two in advance, the war ends, and *hopefully* we elect a more favorable congress over the next two years, prices should dramatically re-correct themselves.

Does anyone else agree, or has the industry gone through this cycle before?

I can pick up range ammo cheaper now, than I could 5 or 6 years ago.

Ammo prices wont go down. China has drug the world price of copper and lead to new heights.

Ammo manufacturers buy copper/lead/brass strip at world market prices, truck or ship it at world oil prices for fuel, look at complete cost to build and workers benefits = new ammo prices !

Even the chinese and soviet arsenals face the same materials prices and have raised their prices.

Practice ammo has been supported in the market at promotional prices far too long to have the premium ammo make the profits to carry the companies.
All their Harvard MBA types running the accounting side have convinced management against loss leaders to get volume.

Winchester used to sell a major portion of their production thru Walmart...until they figured they were loosing $$$ on all of it !

All have notified Walmart the OLD PRICING is GONE !

We are at the peak of world wide ammo production with the War...what happens when and if it slows down.....time will tell . Production has been modernized and all that will have to be paid for by somebody .

Reloading will still save you big $$$ per round...when you can find bulk components !

I do not believe that the prices are going to come down. Except for surplus, the cost for production ammo (blasting ammo) is cheaper now than it was 18 years ago. That is when reloading was king for me. Then it got to the point where I only reloaded match ammo and bought my blasting ammo.

The serious issue now is the trying to find components to reload with... :(
