Low volume products, of any kind, tend to be more expensive. And harder to find because of that low volume.

I wouldn't exactly call 30 Carbine low volume. Since the CMP started offering carbines again there has been a shortage of ammo from all the manufacturers. Only recently have they been catching up with demand.
