Man, That link is sick! I definetly want to meet up with you for that weekend of mayhem if not sooner. you'll be hearing from me no doubt. rule of thumb for 7.62 x39 ....about equal to a 30-30 ...4x scope is perfect for the weapon .... if hunting 150-200 yrds max ...yes you could kill a deer at longer ranges ...but ft/lbs and velocity of round have fallen off ...its been noted that 1000 ft/lbs of energy is need to humanely kill an deer with 1 shot

500 is laughable. 400 is hollywood. Consistant 2" @ 300 - 325.. if your pretty damn good...

Yes... I have owned and shot SKS's my whole life.

Why would you shoot at something more than 100 yards away; you would have to carry it all that way back?
