I got the auto prime kit. It came with 11 shell holders and their reference says to use number 11. Which is the one I use. The primers have double stacked from time to time. But the brass doesn't want to go into the shell holder at all. I just wasn't sure if its the brass or the shell holder.

Mic the base for thickness and diameter compared to those that worked. Maybe a bad batch. Are the markings the same? Get another bag-o-brass and toss the bad ones.

It's neither, you're using the tool incorrectly and that's causing it to have two caps in the feed at once.

I know your statement is incorrect. I have the exact same result with the shell holder out if the tool. I understand that a heavy angle while holding the hand primer may cause two primers to feed. If this happens I fix it accordingly and proceed.
