I shoot 1949 Turk 8x57 all the time. Starting w/ 1600 rounds for 110.00 helped. I use to shoot 1920's 8x56r, it was awesome.

I got some 9mm ammo several years ago that the seller said was about 30 years old. So far it fires fine.

Had some 7.65 x 53 Argentine military surplus ammo made in the late 1930s that I had in a closet in my home. Bought it back in the mid 1960s. Brass in it around the shoulder had corroded from the inside. I assume the corrosive primers in the Argentine ammo were the problem. Could break off the neck of the ammo with my hand. Also had a box of CCI 22 LR mini mags from the late 1960s that were also in my closet. Shot some of them a few years ago. Of the rounds I fired a few years ago, the case split on about half of them. But then, had a few rounds of 43 Spanish, Dominion of Canada, ammo from the 60s too, for my 1879 Remington rolling block. No problems with it at all when I shot it.

a couple of years ago, my father brought his Winchester M70 in 243 over to the house for me to clean and mount a new scope on it for him. he finally dug around until he found some ammo for it that he probably loaded 25-30 years ago in his closet. that ammo hadn't degraded as far as accuracy one bit. several groups were one ragged hole groups at 100 yards.

Wonderful stuff. I use to shoot lots of Egyptian, was $1.00 for 60 rounds. It was steel core also. That was hot ammo!!! I saved 1 round years ago. If your ever in the north east and want an extra bandolier or two, look me up. I have some Ecuador Ss that is pretty impressive also. Those Cupro-nickle bullets are purdy! The heavy ball is awesome. They do have a tungsten core.
