.223 and .45 can be had at good prices. I think I paid just under $15 for a 50 round box of JHP .45. They have lots of shotgun and some other pistol but I don't pay to much attention, I only have .40 and .45 in pistol calibers and they never have .40.

Do they limit your puchase? Our Wal-Marts limit you to 6 boxes. Doesn't matter if they are 100 round boxes or 10 round boxes, you get 6 per day.

Here in So. Kaliforian, the Walmarts' have limited .45 and rifle calibers, but are again well stocked on 9's and .40. The sporting goods stores like Turners and Big 5 have very limited stock and keep their prices high and stock well hidden behind the counters.

So is the ammo shortage over?? or now that prices are up and we have become accustom to paying more everything is available?

No, I think what you are seeing at Walmart is more foreign manufactured target rounds. This is especially true of Winchester white box. I saw some .380 the other day. It said Winchester and it was. It was just manufactured? The only way you could tell was the box was marked 92 grains instead of 95 grains.
Cabelas has started stocking much more Russian made ammo like Herter's and Re-manufactured, like Magtech.
The better JHP rounds are more available but prices are double what they should be.

I don't even bother w/ Wally World anymore. They closed the old store, 15'x4'x2' deep case in the old store. New store is a 3'x2'x1' joke. Open a new "Super" store in NH, the old one sold a ton of ammo and guns and offer no guns or ammo. So much for live free or die! I hope they die out. A store full of chinese crap is something I have no use for. The local gun shop has cases stacked of .223, 7.62x39, .308, 9x19, .45acp and the shelves are full of anything else. Powder and primers are no longer an issue while the price has come down to $24.00 per 1000.
