Default Walmart 45 acp ammo.

I am new to reloading and a bit confused by small vs large primers.
Can i reload winchester white box from wal- mart? How much differerence in size is the large against the small? If it cant be reloaded, do i just trash it? What brass is usable?

Yes, you can reload the Winchester white box (target) .45 ACP 100 rd. boxes that Wally World sells for $35.

I've never heard of 45 acp brass that uses small pistol primers, all mine is large primers, and when I sort my brass I use anything that isn't split or cracked in any way. Unless you have steel cased or Berdan primed ammo then it can be reloaded, as long as it's brass casings.

I was wrong, the WWB from Wally World uses large pistol primers, but some manufactures are starting to use small primers in .45 ACP.

See here ---> http://www.firearmstalk.com/forums/f30/small-primer-cased-45-acp-20131/

a lot of Non-Toxic 45 ACP came with small primers and Federal may be
loading theirs with small primers by now, Jake I'm a little surprised you
haven't found any from the range as it's starting to find its way into
circulation. I don't load much in 45 right now and I've stumbled across a
couple of dozen small primer cases over the past 18 months or so.

as stated earlier, just use small primers and the same load data if you load
the Wal-Mart brass.

Thanks. That cleared that up somewhat.

Guys, if it's brass...it's usable. The only small pistol primer rounds sold at Wal Mart(that I know of) is Fedral Champion(which is loaded specifically for wal mart and large chain stores).....the rest is large pistol. The NT ammo doesn't apply here. Even if you do end up with some small pistol brass don't sweat(like I did a while back), small pistol 45 ACP loads are identical to large pistol loads so just seperate large from small can keep on truckin.

Midnight Express, my range is the hay field behind my house, which explains why I've never had any 45 acp cases that used small primers
