Default unknown bullet from thailand

Was recently in Thailand and found this on an airfield. Not sure what the hell it is exactly. I'm assuming it's an anti-aircraft round. Can anyone help identifying it?

If it is a bit less than 1 inch in diameter, 20mm cannon round.

Tutorial on the various 20's, with pictures: http://www.quarry.nildram.co.uk/an_introduction_to_collecting_20.htm

The hole in the base was for a tracer pellet which burned when fired.

Shouldn't pick up old ww2 or any munitions like that. A lot of them had explosive or incendiary components while they may be partially inert they can still be explosive. If you take such a thing on a aircraft... not to mention it going off in your pocket.

One other thing. It is illegal in Thailand to posses ammunition or ammunition component regardless of age without special govt permission. They lop heads for it...

That was in the early 90's when I was deployed there

I'm in the Army, was recently there for Cobra Gold. Walked around with it for four days in my pocket, had it on the C-17 on the way back, and jumped out the bird with it. :x
