I saw some CCI primers for $50/K, I'm not that desperate and I'm not fighting a war. I have plenty of supplies for my shooting and hunting. I have been finding a few things in stock but I am not paying crazy prices.

A few weeks ago, I asked the clerk at a local store if they had any small pistol primers. I made the mistake of not asking about a price. After I got out of the store and back on the road (was working and in a hurry), I looked at my receipt and found I had just paid $30 for 500. Lesson learned.

That's capitalism for you. They have the supply and people that buy them have the demand.

At a gunshow this weekend the few boxes of primers I did see were all $50+. I didn't buy any as I have 20,000 or so in stock and can wait out the craziness.

I will never buy another thing from the ammunition store or from cheaper than dirt for what they are doing with all this price gouging crap to their customers and I am hoping others will follow along. I am keeping a list of the gougers so I won't do anymore business with them and keeping a list of the one's that are staying reasonable with their prices and will continue to give them my business.

It's not price gouging! All these companies are doing is keeping up with supply and demand. If they didn't raise prices they would go under. If people are willing to pay 80 bucks for a brick of .22, you can bet the companies will sell .22 at that price, it's just supply and demand. As demand goes up, so do prices. Gouging would be during Katrina when a-holes were charging 30 bucks for a case of water. Those peopleNEEDED water to survive. People don't need primers to survive.

How would they go under? Do you really think that the prices of these primers and stuff have gone up and are costing them so much that they have to raise their prices this high???? I think not because other companies are getting the same things in stock and still keeping reasonable prices so I do not believe for one second that the companies that make these reloading supplies have raised their prices so rediculously that the companies selling them have to do the same..... why can I find the same primers for regular prices at one store and then 3 or 4 times the original price at another??? Doesn't make any sense.... They are screwing customers that are retarded and willing to pay idiotic prices, plain and simple.

I just paid $47.00 for 1000 large rifle primers here in Southern California. I don't think the demand is as high here as it is every where else.
