Default Simple question

I'm started to reloads 12ga slugs and have a few halls with the crimp cut off, and was wondering if any one ever used electrical tape in use as a crimp? I have a ton of the stuff and would make reloading these halls possible.

Shotguns are very forgiving and I doubt there is any danger, but it just sounds like a bad idea to me.

I would recommend watching a YouTube channel by the name of Demolition Ranch. That guy has shot everything you can imagine out of his 12 gauge

It will probably go BLOOP, just like a part/open crimp.

best thing is toss those hulls get new ones.

reloading should be done right. while shotguns are pretty durable its not worth risking destroying one over a few cheap hulls.

I can see where you could blow up a gun if the tape were to get between the slug and the barrel. Shotgun hulls are cheap, if you are close to me I`ll give you some, I`m about 30 mi. N of Dayton Oh.

I have roll crimped previously fold crimped Federal High brass hulls. They work OK. Best to use the proper hulls. Get a roll crimper from Ballistic Products (BPI). It works great and is only about $20-25.

I have a surplus of Federal slug hulls (once fired) that we can make a deal for.

What mold and what alloy are you using? I use the Lyman 7/8 oz mold and 20-1 lead-tin alloy with great results
