getting my rcbs kit ready, do i need to use the rcbs cleaner? what other cleaners will work for the powder measure?

I don't think I have ever(20+ years) cleaned mine. Other then wiping with a rag.

i dont clean them unless they get dusty or something. cleaning out the insides makes it like new and static becomes a problem when switching powders. with use a powder measure develops a thin residue that makes it easier to empty and throw charges more consistantly.

i would clean the insides unless you REALLY need to.

a thought on cleaning powder measures....

...mine wouldnt throw a consistent charge for SQUAT....tore it down and found a dead spider and its web in the throw chute....it still doesnt throw consistent charges....but they're a hell of a lot closer!

Lesson? spiders get into the damndest places!!

oh i had found this video. and also in the owners manual it said to clean prior to initial use. thats why i asked.

You might have to degrease any metal parts. You can also wash with dish soap as that helps with the static cling
