I just started building a new reloading bench.
Needed to cause for a while my place is a mess. Not for lack of space, but for lack of organization.
My basic clutter is Hunting, Flytying/fishing/Reloading.
Started building a new reloading bench that will also serve as a fly tying area, gun cleaning/guns working area and storage area so I'm not tripping over the $hit I'm looking for!!
Here Ive secured 2x6 uprights and 2x4 hor. members to the back wall using 3" screws, added lower shelf and front post

Also secured top shelf for dies/powder using 2x6 with x4 anchored to wall studs

Set bottom shelf 1x16 and framed in main bench top

Screwed in leftover 2x12 to add support for my ammo master press

Set supports for 6' laminate countertop I bought on clearance at lowes

Set counter top and secured from underneath framing using 2" screws

fit ended up decent with all available space used up to sliding door closet. Amazing considering my crazy gorilla math and excess alcohol consumption

My old reloading space was jussst a bit cramped

Got the ammomaster set temp in place and decided to call it a night. Looking to buy a progressive soon, not sure 550b or hornadyL&L but think I'll have plenty of space

Try to finish shelving and maybe do some stain tomorrow.....TBC

In the meantime show us your bench setup.....

Mine started as a kit I got at Home Depot That had the brackets in then it told me on the back just how much lumber to buy for a 4'x2' bench it also told me exactly how to cut it. I am not all that good of a wood worker. After the Dillon showed up though it needed to be expanded. So I went to it and bought more lumber and a sheet of 3/4" plywood. It has 2 layers of that and a layer of melonite on top of that.

Juts a few photos of my “Man Cave II” (have three man caves) this is affectingly called the “Armory” for good reasons. It has been a work in progress since 1968; it’s never completed always something else to hang, move or get. The main bench where the progressive sits along with my original Spartan-T was an old Cast Iron table press from a printing company; it weighs about 600 pounds; very staple! I’ve had to recently redo the original oak top, and then decided to expand and corner it around for my stuff. Yes that is an original Pacific Press Pre Hornaday serial number 3875, still as good as day one. If you keep in maintain it will last a lifetime. I do a lot of reloading for many caliber’s a lot of odd stuff 7.7 Jap wildcats; use to be big into competitive high power rifle, made to master; then said what the “hell else do I have to prove” Now when I go out I’ll bring my old Marlin 35 to shoot in the comp at a “anygun match”; love to see the looks on the young bucks faces! Although I want to get one of those neat new Hornaday do all prep stations; I have set my old table top drill press, with some special made things, it will trim a case + or – to about a thousandths; and has the power to do a lot of trimming. Hope you enjoy the pic’s Maybe it will give some a idea how to set up a room. Oh yes that is an original box of Herters 8 mm have a enough sitting around to make my old 8 enjoy a deer season here and then.
