I do believe DHS has ordered the majority of their ammo from ATK who manufactures for the military, Federal, CCI and Spear. The ATK plants produce 1.5 billion rounds per year.

My LGS has sold everything in the place. There is literally nothing left. His entire life has sold, at a premium, more than he probably thought possible. He's tripled his money. I don't think he's hurting. Probably laughing all the way to the bank, waiting, for a box of .22 to show up that he can sell for $70.

There is no "Plot" unless you consider people hording everything is driven by a conspiratorial government. The LGS got a case of .22 Lrs last week. They had people buying .22 Lrs who said they did not own a .22. There are many cleaning the shelves who are looking to make a profit from our misery.

Maybe this week he is. What about next week, or the week after? This thing is going to be like this until the end of the year at least. There is a limited volume to go around. He may only gets get a few box of .22 in this week. And with no guns left to sell, what's he got to live on after that?

I won't try to convince you further, but I'm telling you now, your vilification is entirely uncalled for.

A local kitchen table FFL has PMC 357 mag ammo for $20 a box. I haven't had to buy any 357 ammo other than to replace what I have shot. I did break down and buy some PMC ammo. Fiocchi is much better ammo. I would rather hang on to it until things get back to normal.

There is ammo out there if you look around for it. I got 1000 rounds of American Eagle 147 gr FMJ 9mm ammo for $240 in January, that included shipping. Pre-ordering or getting on the notify me lists is the way to go.

Won't be hurting me. While I don't have a lot, with another baby on the way, I won't be able to spend money on ammo and such. I haven't shot since December or so.

Go to gun broker and look at the 9mm 100 round packs that usually sell at Walmart for $20. They are all on gunbroker for triple the price.
Totally agree!!!

This just in from Blazer

Quote:
Dear Blazer,
Can you explain why I can't find the ammo I want at the locations I previously had not problem finding them at........People are hoarding ammo.

Also, why have prices doubled-tripled-quadrupled?..............people hoarding ammo.

If it's purely a supply / demand, who are the demanders? (people/government?) or is it regulations?.........The public hoarding ammo.

How long do we see this ammo crisis going on?............................Till people stop hoarding ammo.

Sincerely,
Gloves
Great response, LOL
