shooting steel with hard cast bullets

well, i got my first batch of cast bullets sized a tumble lubed last night. will i be ok to shoot these at my steel targets just the same as i've been pinging them with jacketed bullets?

You should not have any problems.

Ricochet,

As you are probably aware, there are different safety ranges for rifles and pistols. If you are shooting a pistol using lead 15 yards would be a safe distance. Rifles obviously would have a greater safety distance. But as you stated they would be well within the safety ranges of the jacketed bullets you mentioned.

Any safe range for jacketed bullets will be safe with cast. Lead splatters. The jackets are nasty as sharp shards fly around and cause way more ingury than a cast bullet would ever think of.
