To correct myself. The model 30 was a six shot .32 cal.
So you probably have the, 5 shot, Chiefs Special Model 36, from the 50's.
Like others have said, practice. It's a suprise. Stick to body mass, it's not a target revolver. My wife has it to carry, but she knows how to use it!

I agree. Some people's problem is they see a younger person and dismiss them. When I was a kid I used to clean guns at the police poker game. As the officers came in they unloaded the guns and placed them on my table. I always made more than my dad did at the game. But that is how I started my history with guns.

Model 10 would be a K frame. The Mdl 36, Chief's Special is a J frame.

Would not shoot a lot of really hot ammo thru either, but one or two cylinders is not likely to cause a catastrophic failure. Accelerated wear and tear- yes.
