Default Reselling ammo?

This question may not be in the correct area so (mods) feel free to relocate it.

I had thought someone selling ammo must have a FFL but people are reselling ammo on gunbroker all the time. How is this so?

Next question is how much does it cost on average to get a FFL and then the annual costs? I live in Illinois if that helps.

After the mayhem settles down to the new normal, I have a business idea but would need a FFL and I know nothing of it.

Thank You

You do not need an FFL to resell ammo. Go to the BATF website, all the info for an FFL01 are there.

AT ONE TIME- you did. No longer. You need FFL to MAKE ammo, or make components for sale.
What we have here is... failure- to communicate.

Is on the money! You only need an FFL if you manufacture ammunition and sell it! Or components for ammunition.

The Constitution is not an instrument for the Government to restrain the people. It is an instrument for the people to restrain the Government!
*Patrick Henry

Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom."

if you go to wal-mart and buy ammo, turn around and resell it online- perfectly legal no FFL needed

if you reload for yourself, and a buddy has the same cartridge and wants to save money and buy rounds of you- have him buy you a beer instead of buying the rounds, and tell him that you are not liable if anything wrong happens--grey area of the law

if you reload with the soul intent to resell and possible make profit- your need FFL06(manufacture of ammo)

the home reloader can buy brass, primer, bullets, powder, make his own bullets(casting)

you can sell primers and powder, but must pay Haz-Mat fee and jump through some other hoops
