Remington 223A 55 gr. FMJ BT question

Got a question for those who know more than I..

Just got home from the Gunshop. Picked up some Remington .223A for the M4..
1000 rounds for $299.00. Have read that they were pretty dirty. But yet I want to put them to the test..

Question is, are these rounds decent ? Or just expensive plinkers that I should save the brass ?

At 30 cents a round for factory .223 you can afford to clean the gun more often. The 20 round boxes are going for 50 cent a round all day here. By the way, keep the brass.
