Default Reloading an origional springfield trapdoor

I have an original springfield trapdoor in 45/70. All i can find are smokeless powder loads. Some are listed for the trapdoor. Are they safe or should i stick with tried And true black powder loads? Can you recommend any loads?

Lyman has smokeless loads listed for the trapdoors. My Lyman 48th edition even has smokeless/blackpowder "duplex" loads listed
In life, strive to take the high road....It offers a better field of fire.
