JD,

I agree with your assessment. Federal taxes have a snowballs chance
in hell of passing the House nor would I see even the Blue Senate passing
such a tax increase.

However, on a state and local level we could see some significant moves
in state and local taxes.

Although, reloading equipment manufactures my not investing in expansion
of their facilities, I do know that several have been farming out parts to local
job shops, that should help increase the flow of parts to market.

BTW, just purchase some .308 Win dies from www.fsreloading.com.

I fear you might be right.

Went to Cabela's today just to see what they had and found .45Acp dies. Had to do a little searching through the shelves but I found it. Picked up 250 bullets so I can start soon and see how they cycle in my .45s

I emailed Cabela's on 9/7 to check on the status of my order for an RCBS .45 Colt carbide die set and received this reply:

We appreciate your patience!

According to our inventory records, the merchandise in question is currently out of stock.

The tentative arrival date for this particular item to our warehouse is 09/30/13.

If they do receive the dies from RCBS on the date mentioned, I will have waited over two months for them. I can see a possible shortage of some calibers like the .223 Remington, but are that many reloaders all of a sudden ordering dies for the .45 Colt. Or is it that RCBS has had to concentrate on keeping up with orders for .223 Remington and other popular caliber dies at the expense of some of their other calibers?

In all my years of reloading, I never thought the time would come that there would be such a shortage of reloading components and tools. I guess I should give credit to our "beloved" president.

Since it is now October and I still haven't received my RCBS 45 Colt Carbide Die Set that I ordered in July, I thought I would check Cabela's and some of my other favorite online reloading supply sources regarding the availability of the die set. The results:

Cabela's - Out of Stock
Graf & Sons - Out of Stock
Midsouth Shooter's Supply - Out of Stock
Midway - Out of Stock

What Gives:

Try Ebay. I bought most of my dies from sellers there and the dies were all new stock.

www.fsreloading.com

I have been able to get everything in a reasonable time as far as equipment goes.

Primers and powder if a bit different.

[Try Ebay. I bought most of my dies from sellers there and the dies were all new stock.]

I ordered from Cabela's because my son gave me a gift certificate. I can afford to wait. I already have a Hornady die set that can be used for both the 45 ACP and the 45 Long Colt. The reason I ordered this die set is so that I don't have keep re-adjusting the Hornady dies each time I switch from one caliber to the other. My plan is to leave the Hornady dies adjusted for the 45 ACP and reload my 45 Colt with the RCBS dies. My biggest concern, however, is why is there still such a lack of dies and reloading components in general. Has this been going on ever since our "fearless leader" was re-elected?
