Hello,

I've written the following to Hornady:

Quote:
Hello,

I've noticed you're now carrying ammunition specialized for use against Zombies.

While I admire the thought, I do believe you've done a great disservice to those who are to defend against Zombies and the shooting public at large.

You see, one main weapon to be used against the Zombies will be the Mosin-Nagant rifle. This is chambered in 7.62x54R.

As well, I would greatly admire to see a 230 grain version of the .45acp Zombie load.

However, I do recognize that most Zombies are decidedly squishy, and for that reason I would suggest a 123grn Z-Max loaded to over 3000fps in the 7.62x54R with perhaps a 150grn option for those longer shots and brush shots us in Indiana and Michigan may have to make through brush.

Additionally, the 185grn version should work well, but expansion may suffer due to the slower speeds. How about bumping that one up to +P pressure levels and giving us a 230grn option as well, simply because not all Zombies are created equal.

I would GREATLY admire a 230grn .45acp load that would come apart in 5% (yes, 5%) ballistics gel. This would shoot to POA in full-sized 1911 handguns while retaining the ability to blow chunks from putrefying flesh.

Please consider these requests. The owners of Mosin-Nagant rifles and 1911 pistols would be most impressed at your concern for their continued existence during any given Zombie Apocalypse.

Regards,

Josh Smith

I wonder if I'll hear back from them?

What is it about this ammo that's supposed to make it good at killing zombies?

Gosh everyone knows adding the word zombie on the box makes it work that much better..

Just giving you a hard time bud.

I actually know absolutely nothing about this new line of ammo, though I am pretty sure it is just a cool marketing idea. Either way I wouldn't mind to buy a few boxes just to have.

I watched the commercial. It's awesome. And if they make some Z-max for the Mosin, I'm most definitely getting some.

Does this mean I have to RE-stock my ammo supplies?

Personally, I think I'll pass on any Hornady products in the future except for their .17HMR. They should fire their marketing people.
