Robo interesting post. I use oil field "Nut Plug" lost circulation material. This is made from a very fine grade of ground pecan hulls. Most companies will give you broken bags of plug. I also experiment with cleaning this free media. Dedicated re-loaders pushing the line over the years are the brains behind reloading.

Same here, my media is only 10 years old and has cleaned many thousands of cases. An old reloader told me to put some in rice, dryer sheets and a couple of cap fulls of paint thinner every couple of cleanings. I have done that all this time and all my brass comes out nice and shiny after 1 1/2 hours or less.

Pet bedding at Wal-Mart is corn cob and a lot cheaper. (Basically echoing robo)
