Default Question about 22 long rifle ammo

I went to ammo___.com. looking to buy a thousand rds of 22 lr ammo. They have it, but they list it as blanks.
Why would anyone want 1000 rds of blanks?

Starter pistols for field & track. Training a bird dog. Immediate action drills with a rifle or pistol (does not cycle action) Teaching those snotty kids to stay the hell out of your yard (just kidding)

A poor attempt at "dunk shoes" to allow the vertically challenged to dunk a basketball?
