Default PMC Starfire HP (warning)

shot a box of this stuff advertised as defensive ammo. most of it felt underpowered and probably was 3 failed to eject 2 fte out of my fnx45T both of which stove piped and they were so underpowered i thought they were squibs and did a bore check on each. the third was out of my colt lightweight commander and again such light recoil i thought it was a squib and did a bore check.

avoid this stuff for carry ammo its utter junk.

none of the rounds out of that box felt like they had a sufficient charge of powder. or even any two cartridges felt remotely similar in recoil.

Thanks for the warning Jon.

Seems they've had trouble with this stuff since introduction.

Did you happen to contact pmc? How about pulling a bullet and weighing the powder charge?

Thanks for the heads up.

Yes i sent them an email with lot number no response. Im not going out of my way. I shot them all at the range. Brass went in the to be loaded bucket

We also picked up an extra 300 9mm cases off the range that so it wasnt all bad

Its not the first time ive had issues with recent pmc ammo. They used to be really good and consistant. But the last 5 years or so has been really bad for them.
