Default plinking bullet

Hey guys, my dad just got a new AR and I have be tasked with supplying him with ammo. I am looking for a good plinking/range bullet for it, 1:9 twist and 16" barrel. I am planning to get range brass for it so no need to get too technical with it. he got the gun for fun and JIC.

he will probably buy a bulk order of ammo and let me load the ammo he shoots! not complaints here, I will shoot the heck out of it and he can clean it! God knows I cleaned my M4 and SAW enough in my 4 years as a door kicker to last a life time!

Thanks in advance!

Wal Mart. The best buy is the 100rd packs from Federal.

I'd pick up a copy of Shotgun News and see if you can find a place that has pulled military bullets for sale. Far as other places...Powder Valley Inc. sells Winchester and Hornady 55 gr. FMJ bullets for around $100 a 1000 count.

Wideners out of South Carolina has a great 55 gr Milspec bullet that I have loaded a bunch of. They are consistent, run $39/500
