I was pleasantly surprised with one of my .308 loads while at the range recently. I was testing different loads in my Savage 10FLP bolt-action rifle. I shot two really good groups using the 168-grain Hornady A-Max and the Lupua 167-grain Scenar. I brought along a box of loads I had made using the Nosler 168-grain HPBT. I bought a couple boxes of the Nosler bullets at a time when they were the only ones available. I had never tested them until recently when I brought some along for practice. I shot a pretty nice four-shot group with them. The dime is covering this group. I was using IMR 4064powder. I used a OAL of 2.80 because I also shoot these loads through my M1A. For what it is worth, I have never crimped my .308 loads nor have I yet to experience any problems as a result.
