Default Pet 308/168 BTHP loads?

I am wondering what folks are using for powder and charge for a .308 load. I am looking for long range performance and using Sierra 168gr Match BTHP bullets. Any info on powder and charge for this load would be appreciated. Thanks.

42.0 grains of RL15. federal brass. federal 210 primers. I shoot this recipe out of a 26" sps varmint and it shoots very well.

Havent really found a load my scar17 doesnt like using the 168smk. Long as i stick to bullet weights under 180 grains its sub moa. rl15 works well as does w748. Varget also works well. I seat them all so they fit in scar mags at 2.800 coal.

I use this bullet in my loads for both my NM M1A and Savage bolt-action rifle. My pet loads are 41.5 grains of IMR4064, 42.0 grains of IMR 4895, 43.0 grains of Varget and 39.5 grains of IMR 3031. All of these loads work very well in both rifles.

3031 is my favorite. Varget/4895 are both steady performers. Bud loves "Vita"... Velocity is not the same as accuracy--do your ladder tests with each rifle--they all have their "sweet spots".

Fred , I have to ask.. what rifle ? M1A max loads will be different than bolt gun loads. M1A's also need a pretty narrow specific burn rate, so not all powders are suitable.

Just sayin'
