my a1a shoots 7.62x39 rounds i have been using wolf blackbox hp and fmj(outdoor range) 122gr and at 100 yds fixed 6 power scope ,sling,and elbow to prop on bench thats it 3 to 3.5 inch groups right in the center, i pick up some winchester brass 122 gr sp and groups are 3 inches pretty consistantly but are shooting 1.5 inches lower which is the opposite of what i thought would happen,i was told wolf was low power ammo and the winchester would have more omph so i was expecting to see the grouping an inch higher what gives

If you have a micrometer, check the bullets. A remaining non-dead brain cell said something about the Winny ammo maybe being .308 diameter bullets, and not the .311 that the commies used.

If the Winchester is significantly hotter than the Wolf it may be leaving the barrel before recoil raises the muzzle as much as it does with Wolf. Believe it or not the gun can recoil and the muzzle can jump before the bullet actually leaves the barrel.

If the group size is about the same, I would bet against .308 diameter bullets in the Winchester. IIRC the Remington was the ammo that used .308 bullets. I have bought and loaded Wincheser 123 gr SP's that were .311.

THAT MAKES SENSE to me i tried remington and remington umc ammo and my groups opened up to 4 to 5 inches at 100 yds and have not used it since

The Remington is really intended for the Mini-30. Many if not all of the Rugers have .308 barrels.

On a side note the Remingtons had small rifle primers, but I have recently found several R-P cases with large primers. When did they switch?
