Long Island's Nassau county is the same, if you are retired LE you have to qualify with the gun you own or carried on the Job to get your carry permit. I went with My FIL about 3 times for his. Since I didn't Carry at the time, no qual range time.

PLEASE!! no one needs to shoot a DOG 5 times, unless that DOG was forced to attack the LE or thats all they were trained to do. Otherwise there is no excuse unless that dog is mauling someone. This "I'm a Cop lets shoot a DOG no one will Give a CRAP has to STOP!! too many Dogs have been killed for no reason! My SIL is a Master Dog Trainer & Master Groomer who has raised BOXER-PIT mixes for close to 20 years. The ENtire Bully Breed family is miscast by people. My OEB is afraid of his own shadow.

Well,..It will always be a winner in my heart even if I can't shoot them anymore. I carried one for over a decade under my left shoulder,..first in a "G.I." issue leather rig,..then a BIanchi Rig....
