Default NOT trying to start a caliber war, just a poll!

What is your favorite self defense caliber? Not for home defense, not for plinking, not for skeet shooting. Simply personal defense, as in a CC weapon.

Please, PLEASE, do NOT start a caliber war. If you have something not listed, make a comment. If you want to discuss, fine, but just don't start a war about it!

I am allowing multiple votes, in case you can't make up your mind!

Thank you.

Depends on where I am going what I am doing and what I want to wear that day. I am not going to go to a water park with the kids and carry a full size 1911. Nor would I carry a tiny little 380 in the middle of winter under a heavy coat.

I do love my .45,
but I picked the .44 Special.

What was I thinking?
Forgive me for I am old.
My Vaquero is loaded with .45 Colt.
And ready.
Big Heavy Bullets.
Now if my Colt 1911A1 would take .45 Colt.

For now, I have a .357 Magnum for home defense. If I ever were to carry, it would be my .380. I know others may disagree but for now, I am perfectly comfortable with my choices. I don't doubt for a minute either of those two calibers will keep me safe.

Default yes I voted first...

I voted "other"... which is the 9mm Makrov (or 9X18)... because if I carry or keep anything by the nightstand it is my Radom P64 75% of the time. During late Fall or Winter (wearing a heavy coat then..) It's my Ruger P95 in 9mm Luger (or 9X19).

s&w 442 38 special. Front right hand jacket pocket. Comfortable, concealable, and easy access.

9MM...I like magazine capacity and rate of accurate fire over knockdown power. M&P Shield in 9mm works for me
