Default New Winchester Defense Ammo

http://www.winchester.com/Products/New-Products/Pages/pdx1-410.aspx

Just received the new Win. Ammo catalogs and the new .410 and 12 ga. personal defense ammo is pretty bad-a$$. This ammo is a combination of pellets and slugs or pellets and disks. You Judge owner should find this crap interesting. It's listed as PDX1 410 and PDX1 12. Joe

I never could understand why we needed "personal defense" ammunition in the first place.. It kinda reminds me of putting armor plating on our children so they wouldn't hurt themselves while playing outside..

Guess I just grew up in the wrong time period.. I skinned my knees and got cuts and bruises all the time with no lasting ill effects or perminent disfigurement.. IMHO, if I'm going to have to defend myself and shoot someone (God forbid it ever happens), I will shoot to kill. Bean bags and rubber balls are for children. My God how we've whimped out !!

Sorry.. just had to get it off my chest..

Personally I don't know why people insist on making the 410 something it's not. Just because someone gets the idea to chamber a pistol in a round doesn't instantly qualify it as a self defense weapon. The 410 is a small game/target round, that's it. I don't want to hear your stories about deer hunting with it, just because you can doesn't make it a good idea. The 410 as a self defense round is weak at best, especially when shooting it from a 3" barrel, I don't care how you dress it up. It could shoot posion darts and it still would be a weak SD round.

It's for the same reason that people choose hollow points over FMJs.

IMHO 3, 000 Buckshot pellets coming at you out of a 3 inch Judge at close range just might get your attention and also make you graveyard dead. It is also my belief that the .410 caliber has it place as an indoor home defense firearm. Unless you live in a pole barn you only going to be shooting the length of a normal size room at best. No I don't own a Judge.
